Herault, near the Hospital of Charity, a Creole mare of Morne du Cap, without brand, red coat, with large tail and large mane, very fat and even with foal. Said Negro Jean-Pierre belonged to Madame Defoix, and she sold him to M. Etase, tailor, residing near M. Grimperel, Notary-General on the Place d'Armes of the Cape, and said Negro has been maroon for about eight days, according to the letter of Madame Defoix. He also has his mother with M. Ponce, sugar planter in the Quarter-Morin or at Petite-Anse. It is presumed that this Negro has connections in the quarters of Trou and Fort-Dauphin.
