1767-Feb.-04: Affiches Américaines issue No. 5 was published, continuing its role as the primary source of administrative, economic, and social news for Saint-Domingue. The gazette served as a central repository for shipping logs, market prices, and public notices regarding runaway slaves. By providing a standardized information stream, the newspaper allowed the white colonial population to manage their estates and trade interests with greater precision. Its publication reflected the established literacy and sophisticated information networks of the 1760s colony.
