The North proclaimed Pierrot its commander in chief
Haitian
Discontented with the government of Charles Hérard the elder (Rivière), the North secedes anew and proclaims Pierrot its general in chief on 24 April 1844. This appointment having been accepted by the rest of the Republic, the secession did not take place, and Pierrot was President of the Republic.
Rouzier tells this under the entry NORD [le].
