Telegraph station with Port-au-Prince is inaugurated

Haitian

On 5 March 1893 the telegraph station with Port-au-Prince was inaugurated by the President of Haiti, Hippolyte. The telegraph wire had been adapted to a telephone apparatus. The president conversed at length with the minister of war, General Turenne Jn. Gilles, who was at Port-au-Prince.

Rouzier tells this under the entry ST.-MARC.
