President Hyppolite stops at Bonneau on his tour of the North
Haitian
BONNEAU. Habitation situated in the commune of l’Anse à Foleur, between that village and St.Louis du Nord. It lies at the foot of a morne and offers an admirable site because of the greenery that surrounds it. It is a fairly populous little village. Coffee and cacao are grown there. There is a chapel built in 1880, served by the parish priest of St.Louis. President Florvil Gelin Hyppolite stopped there on 5 April 1893 during his tour of the North. At the gates of the village flows the river le Bas de Ste.Anne.
Rouzier tells this under the entry BONNEAU.
