Siffra, chief of the Piquets, is shot at Jérémie
Haitian
During the civil war of the Cacos in 1869, Corail suffered greatly. Several fights were fought there between Cacos and Piquets. Siffra, the chief of the latter, who in that time committed so many atrocities in the neighboring arrondissement of Nippes, was arrested, at the triumph of the revolution, in the rural section of the Hauteurs de Corail, taken to Jérémie and shot on 12 May 1870, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Corail.
