Rosalvo Bobo marches into Cap-Haïtien at the head of the cacos

Davilmar Théodore’s short government had collapsed. His former minister of the interior and police, Dr. Rosalvo Bobo, took command of a caco insurrection in the North and made a loud entrance into Cap-Haïtien on 5 May 1915. He proclaimed himself head of the provisional government and days later named a cabinet of six men. Bobo was a physician, a doctor of law and a pianist, and he was also the man Washington had decided would never be president of Haiti. On 28 July the Marines landed at Port-au-Prince, and the occupation gave the presidency to Philippe Sudre Dartiguenave instead.
