Privert installs the commission that will verify the 2015 election

On 28 April 2016 provisional president Jocelerme Privert installed the five members of the Commission indépendante d’évaluation et de vérification électorale at the National Palace. He did it without parliament and without the blessing of the international community. The five were François Benoit as president, Gédéon Jean as spokesman, the statistician Erick Gaillard, Marc Donald Jean and Pierre Wilfried Sanon. Their mandate was to evaluate and verify the first round of the presidential election held on 25 October 2015. On 30 May they reported back and recommended running the whole thing again.
