Novelist Fernand Hibbert is born at Miragoâne

Fernand Hibbert was born at Miragoâne on 3 October 1873. He wrote satiric, funny novels about the Haitian bourgeoisie and remains one of the most widely read Haitian authors. He also worked as a diplomat, an educator and a journalist. He died in Port-au-Prince in 1928.
