Hurricane Matthew comes ashore in the South as a Category 4 storm

Hurricane Matthew made landfall over southwestern Haiti on the morning of 4 October 2016, near Les Anglais in the Sud department, at Category 4. About 1.125 million people were exposed to hurricane-force winds, most of them in the Sud. Nearly four million more in the Ouest, including Port-au-Prince, felt winds of at least 60 km/h.
