Haiti’s fifteen-day Revolutionary Committee gives way to Marine-supervised rule

The Revolutionary Committee that had governed Port-au-Prince since the death of Vilbrun Guillaume Sam on 28 July gave up power on 11 August 1915. It was led by Charles de Delva, and among its members were Charles Zamor and Edmond Polynice; several had lost relatives in the massacre of political prisoners. It lasted exactly fifteen days. The next day Sudre Dartiguenave was elected president under American supervision.
