Haitian
President Cincinnatus Leconte was killed in the early hours of 8 August 1912 when the National Palace exploded. On 11 August his successor and personal friend Tancrède Auguste gave him an elaborate state funeral, and after the absolution his remains were placed in the Laroche family vault in Port-au-Prince. Fourteen months later they were moved to Cap-Haïtien and buried beside his wife.
