Government troops take Les Verrettes from the Northerners
Haitian
On 11 April 1889, Verrettes was taken from the Northerners by the government troops, following the capture of the Camp de Désarmes. This victory made the government master of the greater part of the plain of the Artibonite. At the rout of General Piquant, at Dessalines, Verrettes was evacuated like all the other points of the Artibonite and of the North; the Northerners seized it.
Rouzier tells this under the entry VERRETTES [les].
