Government troops take Crête-à-Pierrot and burn Petite Rivière

Haitian

On 14 April 1889 the government troops seized the fort of the Crête à Pierrot and the Petite Rivière from the Northerners and burned the village. This act of cruelty was one of the causes of the rout of General O. Piquant at Marchand a short time afterward.

Rouzier tells this under the entry PETITE RIVIERE de L’ARTIBONITE.
