Government generals leave Arcahaie against the Northerners’ camp at Leger
Haitian
The Northerners had established themselves there: their camp was guarded by considerable forces, among others by the 7th regiment of Saint-Marc. The government troops, under the commands of Generals Dardigue, Néréus Nérette and Milien Saint-Jean, left the Arcahaie on 4 January 1889, overthrew all the advanced posts of the enemy and found themselves on the 6th beneath the ramparts of the Léger camp. On the 7th this camp was taken: General Jean Misère was made prisoner. The next day, the government troops seized the Couyau camp and Fond Baptiste.
Rouzier tells this under the entry LEGER.
