Government column dislodges Nordistes from Fort Guibert at Carrefour Robert
Haitian
ROBERT. Habitation in the commune of the Arcahaie, rural section of Fond-Baptiste. In 1802 the work gangs of this habitation massacred the colonists and withdrew in insurrection into the mornes against the French, with the insurgent chief Destrades. On 8 January 1889 a column of government troops marched from Williamson by the road of Leroux against the Northerners established at Fort Guibert and dislodged them after a combat of an hour joined at the Robert crossroads.
Rouzier tells this under the entry ROBERT.
