General Rigaud dies of hunger at Laborde
Haitian
General André Rigaud, head of the departmental government of the South, had just gathered the bitter fruits of popular inconstancy in the streets of the Cayes; sad and dejected, he went to hide his grief on the habitation Laborde after the taking up of arms by the 17th regiment, which he succeeded in stifling. Absorbed in sorrows, he let himself die of hunger there on 18 September 1811, after having languished for some time.
Rouzier tells this under the entry LABORDE.
