Haitian
JOUC. Habitation located in the commune of the Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite. On 5 May 1863, General Aimé Legros, going to Dessalines to take up arms there against President Geffrard, whose minister of the Interior he had been, stayed there for a moment. It was there that General Maurice Ducasse lived, one of the accomplices in this affair, who arrested him at the Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite, in the face of the attitude of the population.
Rouzier tells this under the entry JOUC.
