French take Fort Pageot

On 8 January 1803 Adjutant General Ramel attacked Fort Pageot under the liveliest fire of the indigènes. He had an arm shattered by a bullet and was driven back. General Clausel led the French back to the assault and entered without striking a blow the fortification that the indigènes had abandoned.
