Freedmen of Jacmel force the whites into a concordat
Haitian
History. On 21 November 1791 the affranchis of Jacmel compelled the whites of that town to make a concordat with them. Reinforced by those of the Croix-des-Bouquets, they attacked the town, which they entered, set it on fire, and were driven out of it only by the intrepidity of the sailors of the corvette the Serin, commanded by Captain Bessière (January 1792.)
Rouzier tells this under the entry JACMEL.
