Douyon at Montalais covered Beauvais’ retreat
Haitian
On 21 November 1791, during the fight between the royalist whites and the affranchis of Port-au-Prince, Captain Douyon, encamped at Montalais, protected the retreat of Beauvais by halting Caradeux, who was striving to turn the government palace.
Rouzier tells this under the entry MONTALAIS (le).
