Emmanuel Dubourg, Haitian-born Canadian legislator, is born

Emmanuel Dubourg was born in Haiti on 26 December 1958. He became a chartered accountant and a teacher in Quebec. He sat in the National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Viau from 2007 to 2013. On 25 November 2013 he won a by-election and entered the Canadian House of Commons as the Liberal member for Bourassa, in Montreal North, a riding thick with Haitians. He served until he stepped aside in 2025.
