Emerante de Pradines dies at ninety-nine, weeks before her hundredth birthday

Emerante de Pradines Morse died on Thursday 4 January 2018 at the Hôpital Saint-Esprit on the rue Capois in Port-au-Prince. She was cremated two days later in a private ceremony, and her death became public only when her son Richard Morse wrote about it. She had been a singer, dancer, folklorist, choreographer, actress and anthropologist for the better part of a century.
