Dessalines orders the massacre of the French at 10 p.m.

On 16 March 1804 Dessalines ordered the massacre of the French at 10 o’clock in the evening. The next day, Dessalines named Germain Frère commander of the arrondissement, and Benoit commander of the place.

Rouzier tells this under the entry PORT-AU PRINCE [le].
