Dessalines marches on Bainet after the evacuation of Jacmel
Haitian
After the evacuation of Jacmel, on 22 April 1800, Dessalines, guided by Commandant Conflant, plunged into the mountain gorges, resolved to seize Bainet before reaching the south. At the head of a numerous army, he crossed the Grande-Colline, and left on his left the Larivoire post, which the enemy occupied. After reaching the foot of the mountain of Grand-Goâve, he climbed the Grande-Colline again, turned Larivoire, and camped on the great road to Bainet.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Bainet.
