Dessalines dates the journal of his Santo-Domingo campaign from Laville

Haitian

The journal of Emperor Dessalines’s campaign in Santo-Domingo is dated from the imperial headquarters at Laville, 12 April 1806. Dessalines, Governor General after the expulsion of the French, had at first fixed the seat of his government on the Laville habitation; he then transferred it to the habitation of Marchand, in the plain of the Artibonite, at the foot of the mountain of the Cahos, where he founded the town of Dessalines.

Rouzier tells this under the entry LAVILLE.
