Constant Mathurin Hillion, first bishop of Cap-Haïtien, is born in Brittany

Constant Mathurin Hillion was born at Vannes, in Brittany, on 21 August 1830. After the Concordat of 1860 reopened relations between Haiti and Rome, he became the first bishop of the new diocese of Cap-Haïtien, and later the third archbishop of Port-au-Prince.
