Chavannes and twenty-five companions are condemned at Le Cap

Haitian

Jean-Baptiste Chavannes, the companion of Vincent Ogé, was arrested at San Juan with the enslaved man Louis on 25 November 1790 and handed over at Santo-Domingo. On 23 February 1791 he was sentenced at le Cap to be broken alive on the wheel with twenty-five of his companions; they underwent this punishment on the 25th.

Rouzier tells this under the entry SAN JUAN de MAGUANA ou SAINT JEAN.
