Cayes Arrondissement Council reports on the mine shaft

The ground where the mine is situated is cretaceous ground approaching transition ground, and conglomerates abound there. It has been surveyed by means of two shafts and an outcrop. One shaft was dug in the form of a rectangle 8 meters long, 5 m. wide and 10 m. 40 deep, as the report sent by the Arrondissement Council of the Cayes to the Secretary of State for the Interior, dated 25 March 1879, records.
