Cacos lift the siege of Port-au-Prince
Haitian
During the war of the Cacos against Salnave, Pétion-Ville embraced the party of the Cacos. These besieged Port-au-Prince from that side, but dissensions having broken out in their camp, the siege was lifted on 1 August 1868, and the Cacos of Pétion-Ville and of la Croix-des-Bouquets made for Saint Marc. Those of the South and of Jacmel, who held the road of Bizoton and of Carrefour, made for their respective localities in order to defend themselves against the Piquets risen at their rear in favour of Salnave.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PETION-VILLE.
