Salnave’s Terreur sinks the revolutionary ships Geffrard and 22 Décembre
Haitian
It was in the port of Petit-Goâve that the ships of the revolution, the Geffrard and the 22 Décembre, were sunk by the Terreur, Salnave’s ship, commanded by the president in person, on 21 August 1868. Saint Vil John seized Petit-Goâve. Generals Similien Valentin and Fleurian died defending the town.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PETIT-GOAVE.
