1789-Jun.: Eighteen delegates from St.

1789-Jun.: Eighteen delegates from St. Domingo arrived at Versailles to claim their seats as the legal representatives of the colony in the States-General. After significant debate, only six of these deputies were permitted to join the National Assembly and participate in its deliberations.
