Titre VIII: Des Délits et des Peines (Offenses and Penalties)

Tout propriétaire et fermier payeront une somme de vingt-cinq gourdes d'amende, par chaque carreau de terre qu'ils auront abattu sans l'avoir planté en denrée.

Life lesson: Clear the land and leave it bare, and you owe twenty-five gourdes per carreau. The earth was cleared to be planted, not abandoned.
