Du Conseil judiciaire

Civil Law
Titre X: De la Majorité, de l'Interdiction et du Conseil judiciaire (On Majority, Interdiction, and Judicial Counsel)
Chapitre III: Du Conseil judiciaire (On Judicial Counsel)

Le prodigue de même que l'interdit ne pourra, sans l'assistance du conseil qui lui a été donné, plaider, transiger, emprunter, recevoir un capital mobilier, ou donner décharge, aliéner, ni grever ses biens d'hypothèques.

Life lesson: The prodigal is restrained in the same way as the insane — his counsel must approve every major transaction.
Notes: Identical restrictions for prodigals and interdicted persons: litigation, settlements, borrowing, capital transactions, alienation, and mortgages all require counsel's assistance. Equal treatment for different causes of incapacity.
