Viet leads a sortie against the independents in Pays Pourri

Haitian

On 26 April 1803 Colonel Lux, commandant of the Croix-des-Bouquets, entrusted a detachment to the battalion chief Viet to make an excursion there against the independents. Viet, a Creole of the Grands Bois, knew the locality well. He took several posts from the independents. There is the habitation Gorman.

Rouzier tells this under the entry PAYS POURRI [le].
