Capoix retakes Port-de-Paix
Haitian
Capoix seized Port-de-Paix again on 11 April 1803. In December he had the town fortified; at the same time he compelled all the cultivators and a part of his troops to work in the fields. He gave the 9th a 4th battalion. His demi-brigade found itself 4,000 strong, disciplined and well equipped. The indigènes, on seizing the town, had found its arsenals filled with arms, munitions and troop clothing.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PORT-DE-PAIX.
