Turenne Guerrier routs the Gonaïves rebels at the Gros Morne of Saint-Marc
Haitian
Gros Morne (le). High morne between the Gonaïves and Saint-Marc, in the latter commune. On 7 July 1866, General Turenne Guerrier, commandant of the arrondissement of Saint-Marc, at the head of the military forces of his arrondissement, met the rebels of the Gonaïves at the Gros Morne of Saint-Marc. He drove them back beyond the ferry of the Estère, where they disappeared, leaving 34 prisoners in his hands.
