Toussaint’s army under Bellevue halts at Claville

Haitian

On the evening of 28 April 1800, the army of Toussaint-Louverture, commanded by Bellevue, marching from Grand-Goâve against the Rigaudins, halted at Claville. Dessalines spent the day of the 29th there. The next day, despite abundant rains, he reached the habitation Chéridan.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Claville.
