Toussaint takes a Spanish post at Flamine
Haitian
On 31 December 1794, Toussaint-Louverture took a post that the Spaniards had established there. Dessalines had the honours of the day. At nightfall, Toussaint brought his troops back to Flamine. The Spaniards sought to outflank him. He noticed it, ran to meet them at the head of his cavalry and caught up with them in a narrow road, where, dismounting with his dragoons and arming himself with a musket, he routed them.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Flamine.
