Toussaint Louverture recalls Moïse

Haitian

On 8 July 1799, General Moïse was obliged to entrench himself there with his 6,000 men, following the battle of Faucher, where Rigaud repulsed his army with 3,000 men. After this setback, General Toussaint-Louverture recalled Moïse (on 9 July), and gave the chief command of the troops of the North to Dessalines.

Rouzier tells this under the entry Acul (l’).
