The Haitian Northern division reaches La Vega
Haitian
On 28 February 1805 the Northern division of the Haitian army, marching against Sto.-Domingo, after crossing the river Pûnale, arrived at la Vega. It was seized with admiration at the sight of a small, fresh town, well built and full of pretty buildings. It found not a soul there: the whole population had hidden in the woods. The army continued on its way and stopped at Gua.
Rouzier tells this under the entry VÉGA (la), ou Conception de la Vega.
