The Haitian army left Azua and halted at the Ocoa river; Dessalines ordered Spanish homes burned
Haitian
On 2 March 1805 at 2 o’clock in the morning the Haitian army left Azua and halted at the Ocoa River. Dessalines, seeing the Spaniards flee on all sides at his approach, accused them of being attached to the French party; he ordered that they be treated as enemies and their habitations burned.
Rouzier tells this under the entry OCOA.
