The freedmen of Le Cap triumph over the whites
Haitian
History. On 4 December 1792 the affranchis of the Cap entrenched themselves at the Haut-du-Cap after a fight that the petits blancs of the town gave them. They were preparing to launch upon the town bands of insurgent captives, but, having Pinchinat at their head, they entered the Cap. Sonthonax and Rochambeau came to meet them. The day of 4 December 1792 brought the triumph of the affranchis over the white class.
Rouzier tells this under the entry HAUT DU CAP (le).
