The enslaved of Les Crochus revolt and kill twenty-seven men of color
Haitian
On 23 January 1793, the enslaved of the Crochus, stirred up by the whites, revolted against the French. They set fire to thirty-three habitations of the hommes de couleur, of whom they massacred twenty-seven. The whites and their properties were respected. Jean Pineau was their chief.
Rouzier tells this under the entry Crochus (les).
