The English evacuated the Môle
Haitian
The English found 200 milliers of powder and 200 cannon there. They raised fortifications there and held it until 2 October 1798, when they evacuated it. Had they wished to remain, all the forces of Toussaint Louverture could not have driven them out. They had 8000 men. After their evacuation, Toussaint took possession of it.
Rouzier tells this under the entry MOLE SAINT-NICOLAS.
