Telegraph line to Aquin due to start

A land telegraph line is soon to connect Aquin with the telegraph station of the submarine cable at the Môle Saint-Nicolas, and with Port-au-Prince, le Cap, Gonaïves, Saint-Marc, Jacmel, les Cayes, Jérémie and the Dominican frontier: it was to begin operating from 1 May 1889.
