Succès-Grand Pierre abandons the fort of La Source

SOURCE (la). Fort situated at Dessalines. On 9 October 1888, on the approach of the government forces, General Succès-Grand Pierre, chief of military operations of the rebels of the North at Verrettes, abandoned the fort, taking with him in his flight the 4th of the line and the volunteers of the Petite Rivière who made up his division.
