Salnave’s troops land at the mouth of the Ilet river

Haitian

ILET (l’) ou L’ISLET. River that waters the plain of the Cayes. Dangerous in the rainy season. On 2 and 3 May 1869 the mouth of the Ilet River was the scene of a landing of the troops of President Salnave, on their way to fight the Cacos of the Cayes.

Rouzier tells this under the entry ILET (l’) ou L’ISLET.
