Saint Vil John was shot at Port-au-Prince
Haitian
MORNE OCRO [le]. Located at Aquin. Saint Vil John had orders from Salnave to hold this position in any case; he abandoned it in September 1869 after the capture of Aquin by Brice. From there he went to Saint Michel du Sud and to the Pont de Miragoâne, which he also abandoned at the approach of the Cacos. He was tried, sentenced to death and shot on 30 October 1869 at Port-au-Prince for not having resisted the enemy sufficiently.
Rouzier tells this under the entry MORNE OCRO.
