Saint Vil John executed at Port-au-Prince
Haitian
In September 1869, General Saint Vil John, an officer devoted to Salnave, parleyed with the Cacos at the Bridge of Miragoâne, which he abandoned without resistance. He barred the way to Siffra, who was cut to pieces by the Cacos at Miragoâne. He was tried and condemned to death at Port-au-Prince, where he met his death on 25 October.
Rouzier tells this under the entry PONT de MIRAGOANE [le].
